The first task we have been given is to create a short clip of someone walking through a door, this can also have a narrative so that the clip has more of a story line than someone walking through a door.
Our idea was that someone walks through the door into a meeting hands over some documents and has a conversation with another person and then walks out.

We have to use the 180 degree rule which is- a guideline that states 2 characters in the same scene should have some left/right relationship to each other 

 

We also have to use Match on action which is when the editor cuts from one shot to another view that matches the first shots action, to make it seem continuous. and we can also use shot reverse shot which is a continuity editing technique used in conversations or when characters are looking at each other.
